Our philosophy is diametrically opposed to an industry fed by the “disposable student.”
Students begin excited and motivated, but most have little context for learning a language as an adult. When the required effort, focus, and commitment are not explained up front, progress can fall short of uninformed expectations. Students become discouraged, drop out, and too often blame themselves: “I don’t have the language gene,” or “I’m not good at languages.”
We manage expectations from the moment we meet. Learning a second language is not trivial, so we explain what it will take from you to reach your goal. We refuse to accept an astronomical drop-out rate as simply the nature of the industry—or to build a business around the next student replacing the last.
We would rather you not begin than become another disillusioned drop-out. During the Introductory Session, we explain the process completely without a hard sell. You receive the information needed to decide whether to proceed, plus the right questions to ask while choosing an instructor. That honesty is part of our commitment to your success.
